Snow Helps Apprehend Burglars

After the rough winter we’ve experienced here in the St Louis region, it is nice to know that the snow has been helpful on at least one occasion. According to this news report from KSDK, burglars left footprints in the snow after stealing $4,000 from a home in Edina, MO. The break-in reportedly occurred through a kitchen window and the thieves returned to their home which happened to be nearby. The footprints left from the site of the burglary to their own home, led police right to the thieves and to the cash that was stolen.

Home Security Systems

In most instances, if a home is unprotected, police have little recourse in locating burglars. Home security systems are effective at deterring potential intruders. Systems from Butler Durrell have a no-delay alarm, which means as soon as an intruder is detected by the security system, the alarm sounds, the light flashes outside your home, and your contacts are called immediately. If the alarm is a real threat (not you setting it off accidentally) police are called and sent to the home. Crooks have no time to snoop around and locate your valuables, because they know police will be there shortly.
