St. Louis, Missouri is the Place to Be this Independence Day

Believe it or not, summer officially started this week, and if you are like us, you can’t wait to celebrate America’s birthday next week.  With 4th of July landing on a Friday, the 2014 Independence Day celebrations are sure to be over the top.  We are thrilled to be celebrating the 238th birthday of the U.S., but did you know that St. Louis is celebrating its 250th birthday this year?  Some have referred to this event as St. Louis’ Sestercentennial, but we think that is a bit of a mouthful!  Regardless of what you want to call it, next Friday is going to be a celebration for the people of St. Louis to remember.

What will you and your family be doing this 4th of July?  Here are a few of the celebrations that will be happening in the St. Louis area next week.

Art Hill in Forest Park – This event is our personal favorite.  The celebration at Forest Park includes two nights of fireworks, a variety of food, games for kids, fabulous music, a parade, and even a family fun run.

Community Days in Webster Groves – The event includes two nights of fireworks, a carnival, BBQ, and even a Children’s pet parade.

Historic St. Charles Riverfest 2014 – Enjoy this three day celebration along the banks of the Missouri River with live music, a parade, exceptional food, and two nights of fireworks.

Mississippi Firework Show in Alton – If you want to catch the Fireworks a night early, we recommend checking out the firework show in Alton, Illinois on July 3rd.  Entertainment will include live music, food, and a dazzling firework display over the Mississippi River.
