Butler / Durrell Security LTD was started by John Butler in 1977 as one of the
first primarily residential security companies in St. Louis. After graduating from St. Louis University with a degree in business, and a love of electronics, it became obvious to Mr. Butler that crime was rising and would continue to rise. During the next 10 years Butler Security continued to grow to 1000 clients in both new and existing homes as well as several hundred small commercial installations.

In February 1987, Butler Security began its own local 24 hour central monitoring station and in June of the following year, the Butler family purchased Durrell Security, a high end competitor of Butler Security that was the exclusive Westec Franchise in St. Louis and Southern Illinois.

Today with combined operations, our company monitors 4000 clients with its own local central station. Our staff of 22 dedicated experts sales, service install the GE Security Pro series of system, Westec and most other brands.
Butler / Durrell’s Security's mission statement spells out the company. "We are a personal service company that provides security and communication products to our clients who demand state of the art products, personal service, and immediate response to system violations."

Clients include the chancellors home at a major University , sports figures,
hundreds of small to medium sized businesses and thousands of homeowners like you that now have that warm feeling that your security system brings.
